Director of Admissions and Outreach
Julie grew up in Nashville until she went to college. She attended the University of Memphis for both her B.L.S. and her M.A.L.S. Following her graduation, she was granted a scholarship at Florida State University to pursue a Doctorate Degree in Religion, Ethics, and Philosophy. While studying at FSU, Julie focused on Jewish philosophy and theology. After receiving her second Masters, she was recruited by Memphis Teaching Fellows, an organization that recruits lifelong educators to teach in the public school system. Within two years of teaching at Raleigh Egypt High School, a low income school, Julie became the Chair of the Special Education and remained there for another three years. After spending five years at Raleigh High School, Julie was recruited by Temple Israel to focus on community engagement and outreach. Julie spent almost three years as Director where her focus was specifically on teens and tweens. She has taught Religion and Philosophy classes for the University of Memphis and for Florida State University for almost seven years and has a deep love for learning and the power of education.
