Text Box: We are about half way through unit 2 in our new math series. We have learned to play several math games such as Beat the calculator, Multiplication Top It, and Multiplication bull’s eye. Have your child explain and play one of these games with you. They are great at reviewing those multiplication facts. Right now we are working on various methods of estimation. We are also reviewing place value and rounding. We have had a very successful quarter as far as grades Text Box: are concerned and the students will be bringing home their work in the next week. The chapters that are coming up deal with multiplication of larger numbers and multiplication with decimals. We will also be learning the lattice method of multiplication. Don’t stop working on those multiplication facts at home. We are not able to spend very much classroom time on multiplication since it is a review skill, but they will need to be able to recall those facts to make these next Text Box: chapters easier.
